Kazi Khan, MD
Doctor Kazi Khan is a Board-Certified Practicing Nephrologist who is dedicated to providing high quality care for patients suffering from kidney disease. He has spent the last 20+ years specializing in treating patients with chronic renal failure, end-stage renal failure, acute kidney injury, hypertension, kidney stones and all spectrums of the kidney diseases. He is currently a Partner at Peninsula Nephrology Associates seeing patients in both Salisbury and Berlin, Maryland offices. He strives to provides compassionate, patient-centered care based on each patient’s unique needs to help ensure the best possible plan of care for them. He is affiliated with many hospitals and Dialysis Units in the area including Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Atlantic General Hospital, DaVita Dialysis Center, Deers Head Dialysis Unit and Fresenius Dialysis Units in both Salisbury and Princess Ann. He also services many local nursing home and Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as needed.
Doctor Khan graduated medical school from Ayub Medical College in 1987. He completed his residency and internship at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York and completed his Fellowship at New York University Medical Center graduating, with honors, in June of 1988. He currently serves a Diplomat on both the American Board of Internal Medicine and The American Board of Nephrology.
Outside of work, Doctor Khan enjoys spending time with his wife and three (3) sons. They enjoy traveling and skiing together.

Michael Basuel, MD
Doctor Michael Basuel is a board certified Internist and Nephrologist who has over 15 years of experience in Renal Medicine and Kidney Diseases. He received his MD from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine in 1993. After completing his Internal Medicine residency at Jersey City Medical Center/Seton Hall University Graduate Medical Education, he went on and completed his Renal Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia in 2000.
He is currently a Partner at Peninsula Nephrology Associates, and is a Staff Physician affiliated with Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland, as well as Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland. He serves as the medical director for Deers Head Hospital Kidney Dialysis Unit in Salisbury and for Davita Berlin Dialysis Center in Berlin, MD. He also has privileges as a physician and nephrologist for the Fresenius Medical Care Dialysis Units in Salisbury and Princess Anne, MD.
Doctor Basuel currently sees patients with a wide variety of kidney problems, with particular interests in acute and chronic kidney failure, end-stage renal disease and hypertension. Karen Dah, MD
Doctor Karen Dah, MD is a Nephrology Specialist with over six years of experience practicing. She is dedicated to diagnosing and treating patients with chronic renal failure, end-stage renal failure, acute kidney injury, hypertension, kidney stones and all aspects of the kidney. She currently works at Peninsula Nephrology Associates, with offices in both Salisbury and Berlin, Maryland. Doctor. Dah works with other doctors and physicians to coordinate care for her patients. She is affiliated with many hospitals and dialysis units in the area including Atlantic General Hospital, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, DaVita Dialysis Center and Deers Head Hospital Center Dialysis Unit. She also services many local nursing homes in the area.
She graduated from Ross University School of Medicine Dominica in 2011 and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Rochester General Hospital in New York in 2014. She completed her Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas in 2016.
Shoaib Ali, MD
Doctor Shoaib Ali is a Board Certified Internist and Nephrologist who has over thirteen years’ experience in both Renal Medicine and Kidney Disease. He specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with chronic renal failure, end-stage renal failure, acute kidney injury, hypertension, kidney stones and all aspects of the kidneys. He offers patients a comprehensive array of treatment options which are best suited to their situation.
He is a Staff Physician affiliated with Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland, as well as Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland. He is also a Physician and Nephrologist with Davita Berlin Dialysis Center in Berlin, MD, Deers Head Hospital Dialysis Unit and Fresenius Dialysis units in both Salisbury and Princess Anne, MD.
He received his medical degree from Spartan Health Sciences University in 2005 and completed his residency training at Wright State University School of Medicine graduating in 2009. He completed Nephrology Fellowship at St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit, MI.

Courtney Mishler, Physician Assistant, has been working with Peninsula Nephrology since 2016. She sees the end stage renal disease patients at dialysis on Belmont Avenue and on Milford Street in Salisbury every morning. In the afternoon she sees the chronic kidney disease patients in the office ranging from mild disease to the patients on the cusp of dialysis. On occasion she also treats patients at the hospital in a more acute setting. She graduated from University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2015 with a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to becoming a physician assistant, she worked at Peninsula Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Department for 3 years. In her free time, she likes to read, travel, and cook.
Carrie Paden is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner who has been working with Peninsula Nephrology for the past six years. She Graduated from Salisbury University in 2003 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. For the next eight years, she worked at Peninsula Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse serving as the Administrative Charge Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit until completing her Masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2011. She joined our team in 2012, dedicating herself to help patients understand, and cope with, all aspects of Kidney Disease. She treats patients dealing with chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, acute kidney injury, hypertension, kidney stones other kidney related concerns. Carrie sees patients in the office, hospital, nursing home and dialysis settings.

I have worked in the medical field or more than 30 years in various positions, providing patient care and in management positions. I have worked with and been employed by Peninsula Nephrology for 30 years. I have met many wonderful patients and fellow employees throughout the years. I have lived on the Eastern Shore of Maryland my entire life. I enjoy spending time with my family and reading.
I have been in the medical field for over 15 years. I am currently employed as a medical secretary assisting with chart preparation and taking patients back with emphasis on patient care. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
